If you remember any of your high school chemistry, mod spores and other cellular life would thrive in a dish of mildly acid solution, while the same cells would die if transferred to a dish of alkaline liquid. As we grow older, enzymes are depleted in our bodies. In much the same way our bodies become acid and need to become more alkaline.
We also know that we generally have a diet, in America, that is so much on the acid side, which over-the-counter alkalines have become a huge business. Has it ever occurred to you that by consuming mainly acid foods such as coffee, tea, soda pop, white non-nutrient foods like white sugar, white flour, over processed foods, candies, fast foods, junk foods, food with additives, dyes, preservatives – even meats – we are making our own bodies acid? - Before you eat of drink anything in the morning take a small piece of litmus paper from the roll and place it into your urine stream until it is wet.
- Match the paper to your color chart. Your reading should be between 7.0 and 7.6 to be on the neutral to alkaline side. You can take the test farther by seeing how your system responds to a natural acid such as vitamin C or a slice of lemon. These foods do not remain acid in your system, but change back to alkaline!
- Place a slice of lemon or vitamin C tablet in our mouth for 20 seconds, remove it and place a piece of litmus paper in your mouth.
- Match it to your color chart.
- Wait 20 seconds. Swallow 3 times and do the test again. This will show if your body is where it should be between, 7.0 to 7.6.
