PURE ESSENCE OILS

Anise Seed This essential oil has a sweet, fresh aroma and can be used for cramps, indigestion, or digestive problems, and for spasmodic coughs. It should be avoided during pregnancy.

Arborvitae Often called White Cedar. It is anti-rheumatic, anti-infectious, and anti-allergenic. It serves as cicatrizant, expectorant, and insect repellent. It is also soothing for psoriasis. It is important to note that arborvitae oil is rich in thujone, a neurotoxin substance that must be used wisely.

Basil (India) For headaches, chest infections, and digestive problems. Antispasmodic. With lavender for muscle strain. Mental fatigue.

Bergamot (Italy) Antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, and uplifting. Used for urinary tract infections, tension, anxiety, and cold sores. Regulates appetite and assists with digestive problems. Reduces acne and boils. Good deodorant. Excellent in baths, massage oils, diffusers, skin products.

Cedar/Virginia Traditionally used by North American Indians for respiratory infections. It is also an excellent insect repellent.

Chamomile Well known for its strong soothing effect on mind and body. Excellent for dry skin. A gentle oil suitable for the young and fragile. One of the few essential oils that can be used on inflamed skin conditions.

Cinnamon Cassia This oil has a large spectrum anti-bacterial action. Put one drop in a teaspoon of honey and let it melt on the tongue.

Clary Sage This essential oil is best avoided in aromatherapy unless qualified due to the high levels of thujone. Clary Sage may help in regulating and balancing the hormones, thereby relieving the symptoms of PMS and menstrual stress. Clary Sage gives energy and may help the circulatory system. It creates a feeling of security when dealing with emotions.

Clove Warm spicy aroma. Antiseptic properties.

Cypress A cleansing and refreshing oil, useful in cleansing the skin. An astringent oil useful for refreshing and caring for oily and blemished skin

Eucalyptus Clearing properties make this oil a useful chest rub.

Eucalyptus Lemon Decongestant, powerfully bactericidal and antiviral. Helps prevent the spread of illness. Good for colds, flu, respiratory problems, urinary tract infections, and muscle aches. Insect repellent. Of our two Eucalyptus oils this one is milder and would be the more appropriate choice for a child or for someone with sensitive skin.

Fir, Balsam Considered useful as an inhalation for anxiety and stress. It has a grounding effect.

Geranium A balancing oil for the mind and body. Fresh, floral, and sweet smelling. Astringent oil excellent for all types. Often used for cellulite, eczema, and psoriasis.

Goldenrod An anti-inflammatory oil effective against hypertension and certain cardiac diseases such as pericarditis, endocarditis, and also arthritis. Put one or two drops on the soles of the feet or on the inner wrist. It can also be combined with St. John's Wort Oil to relieve painful muscles. Massage the affected area with a blend of one drop Goldenrod in ten drops of St. John's Wort.

Grapefruit Refreshing and uplifting with a fresh, sweet citrus aroma. Helps congested and oily skin.

Hyssop Spain - has an affinity with the respiratory system, effective for reducing mucus, bronchial spasms, and general flu symptoms. Considered a circulatory stimulant that can raise low blood pressure. Do not use if there is a history of epilepsy.

Laurel This oil has a reputation of helping the immune system, especially for colds, flu, and viral infections. It can cause skin irritations in some individuals.

Lavender The most commonly used all rounder, useful to soothe, relax, and revive. Blends with many oils.

Lavendin This oil is an excellent help to reduce insomnia and stress-related symptoms

Lemon Cleanses, refreshes, cools and stimulates. An astringent and antiseptic oil. Often used for oily skin.

Mandarin Very mild massage oil, good for oily skin. It helps prevent stretch marks. Mix it with St. John's Wort oil. One part of Mandarin to four parts St John's Wort oil. Avoid sunlight exposure after the massage

Marjoram A soothing and relaxing oil, not to be confused with Wild Marjoram that can irritate the skin.

Niaouli Clearing and penetrating oil with stimulating and reviving properties

Orange Refreshing fragrance helps relieve tensions and soothe dry skin

Oregano Oil of oregano is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic. It also has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It can be used topically for itches, and infections of the skin, gums, and teeth. It is a powerhouse for fighting yeast and fungus (both skin and blood-born), knocking out allergies, hay fever, and sinusitis, and stopping infections such as cold and flu. Peppermint Cooling and refreshing, helps to clarify the mind.

Petit grain Petit grain is distilled from the leaves of this tree, unlike Neroli, which is distilled from the petals. Relaxes and restores.

Pine, red A stimulating, refreshing, and clearing oil.

Pine, white This essential oil is particularly recommended for bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, and other bronchial conditions. In micro diffusion, it helps disinfect the air and ease breathing.

Raven Sara (Madagascar) A multi-action oil, raven sara is potentially antiviral and antibacterial - effective against colds and flu.

Rosemary A reviving, warming, stimulating, and restoring oil.

Sandalwood A rich oil which aids relaxation and meditation with a deep woody aroma.

Spruce, Black This Canadian conifer offers a very invigorating essential oil. Dr. Pénoel recommends it to tone the nervous and immune system, to heal bronchitis, chronic fatigue, and rheumatic muscular pain. When you need an uplift, put 10 to 20 drops of black spruce oil on your hand and massage the lower back for a minute or two.

Tea Tree Powerful antiseptic, anti fungal, and anti-viral. Good for acne, cold sores, warts, and burns.

Thyme Warning: Do not use if pregnant or suffering from high blood pressure.

Ylang-Ylan (Indonesia) Known to slow rapid heart beat and reduce high blood pressure. Anti-depressant, relaxant. Said to provide support to those with epilepsy, possibly avoiding a seizure if inhaled immediately prior to onset. Incredible floral aroma, reminiscent of the tropics. Only one or two drops can provide strong aromatic and therapeutic results.
